Byproduct is a term used to describe the water that does not diffuse through the Reverse Osmosis membranes. This water represents 20% of the feed water flow rate, but contains nearly 100% of the dissolved solids. In this project, the Zone B deep groundwater and shallow aquifer byproduct stream will have a dissolved solids concentration of approximately 8,000 mg/L.
