| anomalous trichromacy |
Condition of having three functioning cone types where one or more of the cones has abnormal spectral sensitivity. Anomalous trichromats, like normal subjects, require three primaries for color matching but will accept matches that normal subjects will reject.

| anomalous trichromatic v. |
defective color vision in which a person has all three cone pigments, but one is deficient or anomalous (but not absent). There are three types: protanomaly, deuteranomaly, and tritanomaly; they may be either acquired (resulting from a retinal, cerebral, systemic, or toxic disorder) or congenital (inherited as an X-linked recessive trait). Called also anomalous trichromacy.
