a secondary immune response, occurring with a second or subsequent exposure to an antigen. It is more rapid and greater than the response that occurred following primary exposure Amplifying Host- A host in which infectious agents multiply rapidly to high levels, providing an important source of infection for vectors in vector-borne diseases.

The faster and greater immune response produced by an animal who has previously encountered that specific antigen. Memory cells are responsible for this more efficient response. Also called 'secondary response'.
