Heisenberg was born on the 5th of December, 1901, at W?zburg, Germany. In 1923 he received a Ph.D. at the University of Munich and then became Assistant to Max Born at the University of G?tingen and in 1924 gained the venia legendi at that University. Heisenberg will always be known for his theory of quantum mechanics, published in 1925.
