| UTPglucose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase |
[EC 2.7.7.9] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the reaction UTP + glucose 1-phosphate = pyrophosphate + UDPglucose, a reaction in the glycogen storage mechanism. Called also UDPglucose pyrophosphorylase.

| UTPhexose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase |
[EC 2.7.7.10] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the transfer of galactose 1-phosphate to UTP to form UDPgalactose. The reaction is an alternative minor pathway for producing UDPgalactose for galactose utilization (cf. UDPglucosehexose-1-phosphate uridylyltransferase). The enzyme is present in the liver of adults, but is lacking in infants. Called also galactose 1-phosphate uridylyltransferase.
