| Nocardiopsis |
a genus of soil bacteria of the family Nocardiaceae, order Actinomycetales, consisting of gram-positive, aerobic, nonacid-fast organisms that form filaments. The organisms resemble Nocardia but differ in cell wall type and are not resistant to lysozymes. They are potential pathogens, causing abscesses and pulmonary lesions. N. dassonvil´lei can sometimes cause actinomycotic mycetoma.
