| 설명 | 골격에 붙어 그 운동을 관장하는 근육계. 골격근-평활근-심장근 등 세 개 근조직의 하나. 굵기 10~100μ, 길이 5~12cm의 가늘고 긴 근육섬유의 집합체이며, 가로무늬가 있고, 수의운동을 한다. 한 개의 골격근은 다수의 근섬유와 결합조직으로 구성되고 각기 특유한 형태를 지닌다. 근육의 양끝은 가늘며 그 부분을 근육머리라고 한다. 근육머리는 힘줄로 이행하며 힘줄은 뼈막에 붙는데, 때로는 뼈막을 뚥고 뼈에 부착되어 있다. 근육의 중앙부는 굵고 두꺼우며 이부분을 근복이라 한다. 근육머리는 다시 두갈래근-세갈래근-네갈래근으로 나뉜다. 근육의 운동 자체는 항상 근섬유의 방향에 따르는 수축운동뿐이다. 그러나 골격근이 뼈에 붙은 위치에 따라 뼈대에 대한 여러 가지 운동을 하게 된다. 운동하는 형태로 골격근을 분류하면 폄근-굽힘근-내전근-외전근-회외근-회내근-올림근 등이 있다. 굽히고 폄-내외전-회내외의 운동은 관절축을 중심으로 행한다. 같은 골격에 대하여 펌근육과 굽힘근육이 각기 반대운동을 할 경우에는 양 근육을 서로 대항근이라 하고, 공동운동을 하는 경우에는 공동근이라 한다. |

| 설명 | 근육 중에서 가로무늬가 없는 근. 가로무늬근에 대응되는 말이다. 척추동물에서는 심장근 이외의 내장근은 모두가 민무늬근이다. 많은 내장장기의 벽에 분포되어 있으며, 대개 돌림층과 세로층의 두 층으로 배열되어 있다. 소화관이나 요관 같은 관모양의 구조에서는 꿈틀운동을 일으켜 내용물이 아래로 내려가게 하는 작용을 한다. 항문관, 위, 요도 등에서는 돌림층의 근육이 특히 두꺼워져 내용물이 내려가는 것을 조절하는 조임근육이 형성되어 있다. 혈관에는 돌림층만 있으며, 혈관을 수축하여 혈액을 쥐어짜는 작용을 한다. 또한 자율신경의 지배를 받으며, 우리의 의지와 관계없이 작용한다. |

| 설명 | 의지의 힘으로 움직일 수 있는 근육. 골격근 외에 피부 내의 피근, 관절주머니에 부착하고 있는 관절근 등이 여기에 속한다. 수의근의 근섬유에는 가로무늬가 있으므로 가로무늬근이라고도 하나, 심장근은 가로 무늬가 있어도 수의근이 아니므로 수의근과 가로무늬근은 동의어는 아니다. 수의근의 운동은 민무늬근보다 빠르다. 수의근이라 해도 골격근 등은 근육무리로서 움직일 수 있으나, 개개의 근육은 따로따로 마음대로 움직이게 할 수 없다. 귓바퀴근육은 사람의 경우 발육이 나빠 마음대로 움직이게 하기 어렵다. |

| oral candidiasis | <gastroenterology, microbiology, oncology> Infection with a fungus of the genus Candida. It is usually a superficial infection of the moist cutaneous areas of the body and is generally caused by Candida albicans, it most commonly involves the skin (dermatocandidiasis), oral mucous membranes (oral candidiasis), respiratory tract (bronchocandidiasis) and vagina (vaginal candidiasis or thrush). Rarely there is a systemic infection or endocarditis. Oral candidiasis: describes a fungal (yeast) infection of the oral cavity due to Candida. It is common in infants, diabetics or those on chemotherapy and is well recognised in patients with HIV infection and AIDS. Oesophageal candidiasis: Infection of the oesophagus by the yeast-like fungus Candidal albicans. Usually occurs in the immunocompromised individual (AIDS or following chemotherapy). Oral candidiasis is a predisposing factor but oesophageal involvement can occur without evidence of infection in the oral cavity. Symptoms include difficulty swallowing, pain on swallowing and oral lesions. Diagnosis is made using endoscopy. Treatment is with antifungal agents such as ketoconazole or fluconazole.
