actinomyces viscosus <microbiology> A species of actinomyces found in the oral cavity of man and hamsters. It has been isolated from actinomycotic lesions in swine, cats, and dogs and has been identified as a causative agent of animal diseases.

mallory-weiss tear Lacerations in the oesophageal mucosa that occur close to ot at the junction of the oesophagus and the stomach. Mallory-Weiss tears occur as the result of forceful vomiting or coughing.
Symptoms include vomiting blood.
