Abbreviation for dynamic random access memory. A type of RAM that stores information in integrated circuits containing capacitors. Since capacitors lose their charge over time, DRAM boards include logic to recharge, or "refresh," the RAM chips continuously. "Dynamic" refers to the memory's memory of storage - basically storing the charge on a capacitor.
