| prepuce of clitoris | <anatomy> The external fold of the labia minora, forming a cap over the clitoris. Synonym: preputium clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| superficial dorsal veins of clitoris | A pair of veins on the dorsum of the clitoris, tributary to the external pudendal vein on either side. Synonym: venae dorsales clitoridis superficiales. (05 Mar 2000) |
| deep artery of clitoris | The deep terminal branch of the internal pudendal artery in the female; it supplies the crus of the clitoris. Synonym: arteria profunda clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| deep dorsal vein of clitoris | A tributary of the vesical venous plexus; it runs a course deep to the fascia on the dorsum of the clitoris. Synonym: vena dorsalis clitoridis profunda. (05 Mar 2000) |
| deep veins of clitoris | The veins that pass from the dorsum of the clitoris to join the vesical plexus. Synonym: venae profundae clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| suspensory ligament of clitoris | A fibrous band at the deep fascial level that extends from the pubic symphysis to the deep fascia of the clitoris, anchoring the clitoris to the pubic symphysis. Synonym: ligamentum suspensorium clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| dorsal artery of clitoris | One of the two terminal branches of the internal pudendal artery in the female, the other being the deep artery of the clitoris. Synonym: arteria dorsalis clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| dorsal nerve of clitoris | The deep terminal branch of the pudendal, supplying especially the glans clitoridis after passing through the musculature of the urogenital diaphragm, to run along the dorsum of the clitoral shaft. Synonym: nervus dorsalis clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| dorsal veins of clitoris | See: deep dorsal vein of clitoris, superficial dorsal veins of clitoris. (05 Mar 2000) |
| fascia of clitoris | Fibrous tissue comparable to the fascia of the penis. Synonym: fascia clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| frenulum of clitoris | The line of union of the inner-laminae portions of the labia minora on the undersurface of the glans clitoridis. Synonym: frenulum clitoridis, frenulum preputii clitoridis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| adrenal hyperplasia, congenital | A group of inherited disorders of adrenal steroidogenesis, the physical expression of which varies with the sex of the patient, the severity of the congenital enzyme defect, and the age at which the defect makes its presence felt. The most common form, the simple virilizing form, is due to a 21-hydroxylase deficiency. There is also a salt-losing form (a more complete 21-hydroxylase deficiency), a hypertensive form (11-hydroxylase deficiency), a 17-hydroxylase deficiency form, a desmolase deficiency form, and a 3-beta-hydroxysteroid deficiency form. (12 Dec 1998) |
| anaemia, dyserythropoietic, congenital | A familial disorder characterised by anaemia with multinuclear erythroblasts, karyorrhexis, asynchrony of nuclear and cytoplasmic maturation, and various nuclear abnormalities of bone marrow erythrocyte precursors. Type II is the most common of the 3 types of congenital dyserythropoietic anaemia; it is often referred to as hempas, based on the hereditary erythroblast multinuclearity with positive acidified serum test. (12 Dec 1998) |
| anaemia, haemolytic, congenital | Haemolytic anaemia due to various intrinsic defects of the erythrocyte. (12 Dec 1998) |
| anaemia, haemolytic, congenital nonspherocytic | Any one of a group of congenital haemolytic anaemias in which there is no abnormal haemoglobin or spherocytosis and in which there is a defect of glycolysis in the erythrocyte. In some cases, pyruvate kinase deficiency has been demonstrated; in other cases, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency has been demonstrated. (12 Dec 1998) |
