| 설명 | 비뇨기계통이라하면 콩팥으로부터 시작해서 요관, 방광, 요도에 이르는 일련의 오줌생성 및 저장, 배설기관을 일컫는다. 콩팥은 길이 약 2.5cm, 폭 약 5.1cm, 두께 약 2.5cm, 무게 약 120~160gm으로서, 내측에 콩팥문이 있어 혈관, 신경, 요관이 출입하고 있다. 콩팥은 속질과 겉질로 이루어져 있으며 수질은 10~15개의 추체(오줌을 모으는 역할)를 형성하고 겉질은 약 100만개의 콩팥단위으로 구성되어 있다. 요세관은 토리쪽뇨세관, 헨레고리, 먼쪽뇨세관, 집합관으로 형성되어 있으며, 추체와 술잔, 깔때기를 거쳐 요관으로 연결된다. 콩팥은 혈액을 여과하여 신체 신진대사의 최종산물을 오줌의 형태로 배설하며, 세포외액(extracellular fluid)의 전해질농도를 조절한다. 콩팥에서 형성된 오줌는 요관을 거쳐 방광에서 저장되고 있다가 적당한 시기가 되면 요도를 통해 외계로 배출된다. |

| 설명 | 보균자나 증상이 있는 환자 혹은 이미 감염되어 있는 사람의 호흡에서 나온 직경 10마이크론 또는 그 이하의 액체입자에 부유하고 있는 병원체의 흡입에 의한 호흡기감염을 이른다. 인플루엔자나 편도염과 같이 환자가 기침을 하거나 대화 도중에 자잘한 비말과 함께 병원균이 공기와 함께 병원균이 방출되어 공기와 함께 호흡기로 흡입됨으로써 감염되는 것을 말한다. 결핵-유행성감기-백일해-디프테리아-폐렴 등이 이에 의하여 전파된다. |

| 설명 | 방광조임근 및 요도조임근의 수의적 조절이 안되기 때문에 오줌이 항상, 또는 때때로 불수의적으로 배설되는 것. 참실금(true incontinence): 신경계통의 이상에 의한 진성요실금. 신경계통의 이상이므로 치료는 불가능한 경우가 많다. 긴박실금(urge incontinence): 방광 등의 염증에 의한 급박요실금. 염증에 의한 자극증상으로 염증을 치료하면 자연히 소실된다. 스트레스실금(stress incontinence): 골반의 해부학적 지지구조의 약화에 의해 기침 등 복압이 증가하는 상황에서 순간적으로 발생하는 요실금. 대개 나이 많은 여성에서 많으며, 다출산의 경력을 가지고 있다. 치료는 수술적 방법이다. 넘침실금(overflow incontinence): 방광이하부위의 폐색에 의해 오줌이 배설되지 못하고 방광에 저류되다가 방광의 저장용량을 넘는 순간 주체하지 못하고 나타나는 요실금. |

| 설명 | 어떤 병원체의 감염에 의하여 본인의 저항력이 약해졌을 때 몸의 다른 부위로 전이하여 다시 감염을 일으키는 것. 병원체가 인체에 침입하여 특정한 기관이나 조직에서 병원체가 증식하고, 그곳에 특유의 병터를 일으키는 것이 1차감염 또는 초감염이다. 이 1차감염의 병터의 병원체가 혈관-림프관-기관-소화관-요관 등의 길을 따라 같은 기관의 다른 부위나 다른 기관으로 운반되어 감염을 일으킨다. 따라서 1차감염에 의하여 충분한 면역이 될 경우에는 2차감염이 일어나지 않는다. 예를 들어, 유행성 감기에 걸렸을 때 세균에 의한 폐렴이 뒤따르는 경우를 이른다. 폐렴균, 화농알균, 대장균 따위가 있다. |
