Coded Mark Inversion. This is the STS-3 line code. This is a two level non-return to zero code. A binary 1 is coded by either of the amplitude levels, +A or -A, for one full unit time interval (T) in such a way that the level alternates for successive binary ones. For a binary zero there is always a positive transition (-A to +A) at the mid point of the binary unit interval (T/2).
