||
| 영문 | white blood cell(WBC), leukocyte | 한글 | 백혈구 |
|---|---|---|---|
||

| monitoring | <investigation> The process of continually checking, observing, recording or testing the operation of some procedure. Monitoring occurs for example during anaesthesia or radiation. (18 Nov 1997) |
|---|---|
| monitoring, ambulatory | The use of electronic equipment to observe or record physiologic processes while the patient undergoes normal daily activities. (12 Dec 1998) |
| monitoring, immunologic | Testing of immune status in the diagnosis and therapy of cancer, immunoproliferative and immunodeficiency disorders, and autoimmune abnormalities. Changes in immune parameters are of special significance before, during and following organ transplantation. Strategies include measurement of tumour antigen and other markers (often by radioimmunoassay), studies of cellular or humoral immunity in cancer aetiology, immunotherapy trials, etc. (12 Dec 1998) |
| monitoring, intraoperative | The constant checking on the state or condition of a patient during the course of a surgical operation (e.g., checking of vital signs). (12 Dec 1998) |
| monitoring, physiologic | The continuous measurement of physiological processes, blood pressure, heart rate, renal output, reflexes, respiration, etc., in a patient or experimental animal; includes pharmacologic monitoring, the measurement of administered drugs or their metabolites in the blood, tissues, or urine. (12 Dec 1998) |
| Holter monitoring | <cardiology, investigation> A test which measures the heart rhythm (ECG) over a 24 hour period of time while the patient records their symptoms and activities in a diary. A small portable ECG device is worn in a pouch around the neck. After the test is complete, a correlation is made between the symptoms (or activities) recorded and the ECG pattern that was obtained simultaneously. (27 Sep 1997) |
| drug monitoring | The process of observing, recording, or detecting the effects of a chemical substance administered to an individual therapeutically or diagnostically. (12 Dec 1998) |
| environmental monitoring | The monitoring of the level of toxicants, pollutants, or other harmful chemicals in the environment or workplace by measuring the amounts of these toxicants in the bodies of people and animals in that environment, among other methods. It also includes the measurement of environmental exposure. Humans and animals are used as indicators of toxic levels of undesirable chemicals. (12 Dec 1998) |
| uterine monitoring | Measurement or recording of contraction activity of the uterine muscle. It is used to determine progress of labour and assess status of pregnancy. It is also used in conjunction with foetal monitoring to determine foetal response to stress of maternal uterine contractions. (12 Dec 1998) |
| foetal monitoring | Physiologic or biochemical monitoring of the foetus. It is usually done during labour and may be performed in conjunction with the monitoring of uterine activity. It may also be performed prenatally as when the mother is undergoing surgery. (12 Dec 1998) |
| abdominal pressure | Pressure surrounding the bladder; estimated from rectal, gastric, or intraperitoneal pressure. (05 Mar 2000) |
| absolute pressure | Pressure measured with respect to zero pressure. Compare: gauge pressure. (05 Mar 2000) |
| acoustic pressure | In ultrasound, the instantaneous value of the total pressure minus the ambient pressure; unit is pascal (Pa). (05 Mar 2000) |
| air pressure | The force per unit area that the air exerts on any surface in contact with it. Primarily used for articles pertaining to air pressure within a closed environment. (12 Dec 1998) |
| atmospheric pressure | The pressure at any point in an atmosphere due solely to the weight of the atmospheric gases above the point concerned. (12 Dec 1998) |
