g. inguina´le a chronic, slowly progressive, ulcerative granulomatous disease, assumed to be sexually transmitted, caused by Calymmatobacterium granulomatis, primarily involving the skin and lymphatics of the anogenital region but sometimes spreading to the perineum, perianal area, or inguinal region; usually seen in dark-skinned people in the tropics and occasionally in temperate regions. Called also donovanosis, fourth venereal disease, g. pudendi, g. venereum, and pudendal ulcer.
