Abbreviation: nm. Nano meaning one billionth. Meter as in 100cm. This is the technology upon which the CPU is built. It makes a differance to the physical size of the wafer, and the time it takes for pulses to travel from one part of the chip to the next. A lower nanometer chip should, in theory, be cooler, faster, and more economic. However, intel proved that theory and reality are not always the same with their prescott core chip. However the 90nm AMD chips are better than the 130nm chips.
