| Yorke's autolytic reaction | A test for paroxysmal haemoglobinuria; serum is placed in an ice chest and kept at 0캜 for 5 to 7 minutes, then in an incubator at 37캜 with erythrocytes for 1 hour, at which time, if the reaction is positive, haemolysis occurs; if the serum is kept at 1캜 for an hour and then placed in the incubator with erythrocytes there is little haemolysis.
