parasitoid an animal that feeds in or on another living animal, consuming all or most of its tissues and eventually killing it. Parasitoids are often called parasites, but the term parasitoid is more technically correct. Most beneficial insects parasitoids are wasps or flies.

parasuicide Repeated near-lethal behaviour while denying suicide intent. A common version is repetitive unintentional drug overdoses, requiring emergency treatment. Can arise from personality disturbances, without having major psychiatric symptoms. Subjects tend to resist coercive treatment but may need to be hospitalized involuntarily and/or receive long-term rehabilitation treatment if the behaviour is increasing in frequency.
