gingivitis Inflamed gums that leads to loss of teeth. The build-up of tarter and bacterial infection cause it. Symptoms are tenderness of gums when eating, red puffy gums which bleed when pressed, bad breath, and excessive salivation. Treat with a complete scaling of teeth and antibiotics. Provide dry crunchy food and brush teeth to prevent.
