habit The general structure of the plant, how it grows: whether creeping, single-stemmed, bushy, leaning, etc. Also (as in the photo pages) refers to an illustration which shows the habit of the whole plant, rather than just a stem or flower detail. Not to be confused with "habitat" (see below).
