| drug addiction | Use of a drug for a reason other than which it was intended or in a manner or in quantities other than directed. Commonly abused drugs include narcotic analgesic agents, benzodiazepines, cocaine, amphetamines, barbiturates, marijuana, LSD and phencyclidine.
