  • Clonazepam - »õâ An anticonvulsant used for several types of seizures, including myotonic or atonic seizures, photosensitive epilepsy, and absence seizures, although tolerance may develop. It is seldom effective in generalized tonic-clonic or partial seizures. The mechanism of action appears to involve the enhancement of GAMMA-AMINOBUTYRIC ACID receptor responses.
Synonyms : Antelepsin, Rivotril, Ro 5-4023, Ro 54023
  • Clone Cells - »õâ A group of genetically identical cells all descended from a single common ancestral cell by mitosis in eukaryotes or by binary fission in prokaryotes. Clone cells also include populations of recombinant DNA molecules all carrying the same inserted sequence. (From King & Stansfield, Dictionary of Genetics, 4th ed)
Synonyms : Cell, Clone, Cells, Clone, Clone, Clone Cell
  • Clonidine - »õâ An alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that crosses the blood-brain barrier. Clonidine acts centrally by reducing sympathetic tone, resulting in a fall in diastolic and systolic blood pressure and a reduction in heart rate. It also acts peripherally, and this peripheral activity may be responsible for the transient increase in blood pressure seen during rapid intravenous administration. (From Martindale, the Extra Pharmacopoeia, 30th ed, p350)
Synonyms : Catapres, Catapresan, Catapressan, Chlophazolin, Clofelin, Clofenil, Clonidine Dihydrochloride, Clonidine Hydrochloride, Clonidine Monohydrobromide, Clonidine Monohydrochloride, Clopheline, Dixarit, Gemiton, Hemiton, Isoglaucon, Klofelin, Klofenil, M-5041T, ST-155, ST155
  • Cloning, Molecular - »õâ The insertion of recombinant DNA molecules from prokaryotic and/or eukaryotic sources into a replicating vehicle, such as a plasmid or virus vector, and the introduction of the resultant hybrid molecules into recipient cells without altering the viability of those cells.
    Synonyms :
  • Cloning, Organism - »õâ The formation of one or more genetically identical organisms derived by vegetative reproduction from a single cell. The source nuclear material can be embryo-derived, fetus-derived, or taken from an adult somatic cell.
Synonyms : Cloning, Clonings, Embryo, Clonings, Human, Clonings, Organism, Embryo Clonings, Human Clonings, Organism Cloning, Organism Clonings
