Biotin is attached to pyruvate carboxylase by a long, flexible chain like that of lipoamide in the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex. Adequate amounts are normally produced by the intestinal bacteria in animals. aka vitamin H (in USA). [FAO Glossary]
