  • Transglutaminases - »õâ Transglutaminases catalyze cross-linking of proteins at a GLUTAMINE in one chain with LYSINE in another chain. They include keratinocyte transglutaminase (TGM1 or TGK), tissue transglutaminase (TGM2 or TGC), plasma transglutaminase involved with coagulation (FACTOR XIII and FACTOR XIIIa), hair follicle transglutaminase, and prostate transglutaminase. Although structures differ, they share an active site (YGQCW) and strict CALCIUM dependence.
Synonyms : Gamma-Glutamyltransferases, Glutaminyl-Peptide, Glutaminyl Peptide Gamma Glutamyltransferases, Protein Glutamine gamma Glutamyltransferases, gamma-Glutamyltransferases, Protein-Glutamine
  • Transient Receptor Potential Channels - »õâ A broad group of eukaryotic six-transmembrane cation channels that are classified by sequence homology because their functional involvement with SENSATION is varied. They have only weak voltage sensitivity and ion selectivity. They are named after a DROSOPHILA mutant that displayed transient receptor potentials in response to light. A 25-amino-acid motif containing a TRP box (EWKFAR) just C-terminal to S6 is found in TRPC, TRPV and TRPM subgroups. ANKYRIN repeats are found in TRPC, TRPV & TRPN subgroups. Some are functionally associated with TYROSINE KINASE or PHOSPHOLIPASE C.

  • Transillumination - »õâ Passage of light through body tissues or cavities for examination of internal structures.
    Synonyms : Diaphanographies, Diaphanoscopies, Transilluminations
