ΔG = ΔH - TΔS where ΔG is the change in Gibbs' Free-Energy and ΔS is the change in entropy. The second law of thermodynamics states that for a reaction to be 'spontaneous', ΔG must be negative overall. Another way of stating this is that for a reaction to be spontaneous, the overall entropy increase must be positive.
