non-Hodgkin's lymphoma A cancer characterized by uncontrolled proliferation of lymphocytes (usually B cells, but sometimes T cells), NHL can cause tumors in lymph nodes or other organs, such as the spleen, bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract, and brain.
