Some shelters can accommodate families, or alternatively, families may be placed in motel rooms. Included as emergency shelters are youth safe houses and transition houses for individuals fleeing abusive situations. Services (eg meals, medical aid, rehabilitative and social services, etc.) vary depending on the shelter.
