| magnetic field |
The idea of a magnetic field is used to visualize the force of a magnet. A magnetic field is stronger close to a magnet. An electric current can also create a magnetic field. For a straight wire, the magnetic field forms a circle around the wire. In a coil of wire, the magnetic field is a straight line through the middle.
