A product of the naval stores industry. A lighter fraction than rosin and is usually vaporized during the distillation process. Cooling the turpentine steam yields a liquid which is used primarily as a cleaner and paint thinner. Also called spirits of turpentine.

Decoration produced by rotating or turning wood on a lathe and cutting it to form twisted or bulbous designs. All periods have employed turning, especially on the legs of tables. The design of the turning is often the key to the period to which the furniture belongs.

Technical terminology for the type of flow which occurs when the Reynolds Number exceeds 2000. In contrast to laminar flow, turbulent flow can be described as an irregular and random-looking motion.
