Where the medulla meets the spinal cord, 900,000 of one million nerve fibers in each corticospinal tract cross over from one side to another, so that nerves from the left side of body cross over to right hemisphere and vice versa. The left nerve tract is called the ida, and the right nerve tract is the pingala.
