Rhizomucor a genus of saprobic fungi of the family Mucoraceae, having few, poorly developed rhizoids. R. pusil´lus sometimes causes mucormycosis or opportunistic infections in humans; in other animals it is a more common pathogen and is a major cause of bovine mycotic infection.
