| open-angle glaucoma | <ophthalmology> A disorder which is characterised by increased pressure within the eyeball. Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness. Symptoms include decreased vision, halos around lights (worse at night) and mild chronic headaches. Treatment is generally with beta-blocker eyedrops.
