sarcoidosis there are two main types: acute, relatively benign sarcoidosis with sudden onset usually characterised by fever, inflammation of the skin and polyarthritis or polyarthralgia; and chronic sarcoidosis which is a rarer form typically having a gradual onset with progressive and varied outcomes, including enlarged lymph nodes at the roots of the lungs.
