A syndrome caused by re-experiencing traumatic events while being unaware of or unresponsive to current events or, in other words, a "flashback." A child may experience sleeping problems, nightmares, intrusive thoughts, have difficulty concentrating, self-destructive behavior, hyperactivity or anxiety/panic disorder.
