Actinomycotic mycetoma is caused by actinomycetes, including species of Streptomyces, Actinomadurae, and Nocardia. B. Eumycotic mycetoma is caused by true fungi, including species of Madurella, Exophiala, Pseudallescheria, Curvularia, Neotestudina, Pyrenochaeta, Aspergillus, Leptosphaeria, Plemodomus, Polycytella, Fusarium, Phialophora, Corynespora, Cylindrocarpon, Pseudochaetosphaeronema, Bipolaris, and Acremonium.
