Under the Income Tax Act you are allowed to deduct an amount of money from your income on account of the depreciation of certain capital assets. The capital cost allowance allows you to expense capital assets over a period of several years. The CCA usually differs from the amount of depreciation charged to the asset for accounting purposes.
