| intraductal papilloma |
a tumor in a lactiferous duct, usually attached to the wall by a stalk; a distinction is often made between the solitary type (tumors found in just one duct and often benign) and the multiple type (tumors found in several or many ducts, often bilaterally, and often premalignant). The solitary type often has a serous or bloody discharge from the nipple, whereas the multiple type does not.
