One of several program processes, it is a helping process in which school counselors collaborate with other school staff or parents to facilitate their interactions with students or other adults. This process may involve teaching consultees specific skills or psycho-educational principles and concepts, or helping them to develop a plan of action for dealing with a specific problem (Borders & Drury, 1992).
