ferrichrome synthetase <enzyme> Synthesises ferrichrome; from aspergillus quadricinctus
Registry number: EC 6.3.2.-
(26 Jun 1999)
kyotorphin synthetase <enzyme> Found in brain synaptosomes; catalyses the formation of kyotorphin and pyrophosphate from tyrosine, arginine and ATP in the presence of mgcl2
Registry number: EC 6.3.2.-
Synonym: tyrosine-arginine synthetase, tyr-arg synthetase
(26 Jun 1999)
uroporphyrinogen I synthetase <enzyme> An enzyme of haem biosynthesis that is defective in the inherited (autosomal dominant) disease, acute intermittent porphyria. UP I is isomerised to UP III by UP III synthetase, defective in the autosomal recessive disease, congenital erythropoietic porphyria.
(18 Nov 1997)
flavanone synthetase <enzyme> Forms naringenin and eriodictytol from malonyl-CoA and p-coumaroyl-CoA or malonyl-CoA + caffeoyl-CoA, respectively
Registry number: EC 2.3.1.74
Synonym: chalcone synthase, narigenin-chalcone synthase

10-formyltetrahydropteroyldiglutamic acid synthetase <enzyme> Requires ATP; adds glutamate to 10-formyltetrahydropteroylglutamaic acid
Registry number: EC 6.3.2.-
Synonym: fhpdg synthetase, n(10)fh(4)pglu synthetase
(26 Jun 1999)
2',5'-oligoadenylate synthetase <enzyme> An enzyme that catalyses the conversion of ATP into a series of (2'-5') linked oligoadenylates and pyrophosphate in the presence of double-stranded RNA. These oligonucleotides activate an endoribonuclease (rnase l) which cleaves single-stranded RNA. Interferons can act as inducers of these reactions.
Registry number: EC 2.7.7.-
(12 Dec 1998)
3',5'-cyclic AMP synthetase <enzyme> Enzyme responsible for the ATP.
(06 May 1997)
3-ketodihydrosphingosine synthetase <enzyme> Serine and palmitoyl-CoA yields 3-ketodihydrosphingosine and co2
Registry number: EC 4.1.3.-
(26 Jun 1999)
3-ketosphinganine synthetase <enzyme> Palmitoyl-CoA and serine gives 3-ketosphinganine, carbon dioxide and CoA; a pyridoxal phosphate enzyme; uses ATP
Registry number: EC 6.4.-
Synonym: 3-ketosphinganine synthase
(26 Jun 1999)

(26 Jun 1999)
5-aminolevulinate synthetase <enzyme> An enzyme of the transferase class that catalyses condensation of the succinyl group from succinyl coenzyme a with glycine to form delta-aminolevulinate. It is a pyridoxyl phosphate protein and the reaction occurs in mitochondria as the first step of the haem biosynthetic pathway. The enzyme is a key regulatory enzyme in haem biosynthesis and, in liver at least, is feedback inhibited by haem.
Chemical name: Succinyl-CoA:glycine C-Succinyltransferase (decarboxylating)
Registry number: EC 2.3.1.37
(12 Dec 1998)
5-dehydroquinate synthetase <enzyme> Requires nad and ATP
