  • Calcium Channels - »õâ Voltage-dependent cell membrane glycoproteins selectively permeable to calcium ions. They are categorized as L-, T-, N-, P-, Q-, and R-types based on the activation and inactivation kinetics, ion specificity, and sensitivity to drugs and toxins. The L- and T-types are present throughout the cardiovascular and central nervous systems and the N-, P-, Q-, & R-types are located in neuronal tissue.
Synonyms : Calcium Channel, Calcium Channel Antagonist Receptor, Calcium Channel Antagonist Receptors, Calcium Channel Blocker Receptor, Calcium Channel Blocker Receptors, Ion Channel, Calcium, Receptors, Calcium Channel Antagonist, VDCC, Calcium Ion Channel
  • Calcium Channels, L-Type - »õâ Long-lasting voltage-gated CALCIUM CHANNELS found in both excitable and nonexcitable tissue. They are responsible for normal myocardial and vascular smooth muscle contractility. Five subunits (alpha-1, alpha-2, beta, gamma, and delta) make up the L-type channel. The alpha-1 subunit is the binding site for calcium-based antagonists. Dihydropyridine-based calcium antagonists are used as markers for these binding sites.
Synonyms : Dihydropyridine Receptor, L-Type Calcium Channel, L-Type VDCC, L-Type VDCC alpha-2 Subunit, L-Type VDCC beta Subunit, L-Type VDCC delta Subunit, L-Type VDCC gamma Subunit, L-Type Voltage-Dependent Calcium Channels, Calcium Channel, L-Type, L Type VDCC
  • Calcium Channels, N-Type - »õâ CALCIUM CHANNELS that are concentrated in neural tissue. Omega toxins inhibit the actions of these channels by altering their voltage dependence.
Synonyms : N-Type Calcium Channel, N-Type VDCC, N-Type Voltage-Dependent Calcium Channels, Calcium Channel, N-Type, Calcium Channels, N Type, Calcium Channels, Neural-Type, Channel, N-Type Calcium, Channels, N-Type Calcium, Channels, Neural-Type Calcium, N Type VDCC
  • Calcium Channels, P-Type - »õâ CALCIUM CHANNELS located within the PURKINJE CELLS of the cerebellum. They are involved in stimulation-secretion coupling of neurons.
Synonyms : P-Type Calcium Channel, P-Type VDCC, P-Type Voltage-Dependent Calcium Channels, Calcium Channel, P-Type, Calcium Channels, P Type, Calcium Channels, Purkinje-Type, Channel, P-Type Calcium, Channels, P-Type Calcium, Channels, Purkinje-Type Calcium, P Type VDCC
  • Calcium Channels, Q-Type - »õâ CALCIUM CHANNELS located in the neurons of the brain.
Synonyms : Q-Type Calcium Channel, Q-Type VDCC, Q-Type Voltage-Dependent Calcium Channels, Calcium Channel, Q-Type, Calcium Channels, Q Type, Channel, Q-Type Calcium, Q Type Calcium Channel, Q Type Calcium Channels, Q Type VDCC, Q Type Voltage Dependent Calcium Channels
