a corneous sheath at the base of the tongue, including fulcrum, auricul? and lacini? Fabricius calls it the base of the tongue. Degeer names it "the intermediate piece of the sheath;" Swammerdam also considers it "the sheath of the tongue." Latreille names it "la ga?e."
