| left triangular ligament | <anatomy> A triangular fold of fibrous connective tissue and peritoneum that extends from the left lobe of the liver to the diaphragm. Synonym: ligamentum triangulare sinistrum. (05 Mar 2000) |
|---|---|
| triangular ligaments of liver | See: right triangular ligament, left triangular ligament. (05 Mar 2000) |
| right triangular ligament | <anatomy> A triangular fold of peritoneum that passes from the right lobe of the liver to the diaphragm; it is a formation of the coronary ligament, formed as the coronary ligament makes an acute angle upon reaching its most lateral point on the right side as it surrounds the bare area of the liver. Synonym: ligamentum triangulare dextrum. (05 Mar 2000) |
| triangular ligament | The layer of fascia extending between the ischiopubic rami inferior to the sphincter urethrae and the deep transverse perineal muscles. Synonym: membrana perinei, fascia diaphragmatis urogenitalis inferior, Camper's ligament, ligamentum triangulare, perineal membrane, triangular ligament. (05 Mar 2000) |
| left lobe of liver | It is separated from the right lobe above and in front by the falciform ligament, and from the quadrate and caudate lobes by the fissure for the ligamentum teres and the fissure for the ligamentum venosum; the distribution of the portal vein, hepatic artery, and bile ducts does not correspond to the gross lobar divisions of the liver. It contains two segments, superior and inferior. Synonym: lobus hepatis sinister. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ligament of left superior vena cava | The obliterated left common cardinal vein that extends from the left brachiocephalic vein to the oblique vein of the left atrium. (05 Mar 2000) |
| ligament of left vena cava | The obliterated left common cardinal vein; it extends from the left brachiocephalic vein to the oblique vein of the left atrium. Synonym: ligamentum venae cavae sinistrae. (05 Mar 2000) |
| round ligament of liver | The remains of the umbilical vein running within the free edge of the falciform ligament from umbilicus to the liver, where it continues within the fissure for the round ligament to the origin of the left portal vein within the porta hepatis. Synonym: ligamentum teres hepatis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| coronary ligament of liver | Peritoneal reflections from the liver to the diaphragm at the margins of the bare area of the liver. Synonym: ligamentum coronarium hepatis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| notch for round ligament of liver | The notch in the inferior border of the liver that accommodates the round ligament. Synonym: incisura ligamenti teretis hepatis, incisura umbilicalis, umbilical notch. (05 Mar 2000) |
| falciform ligament of liver | A crescentic fold of peritoneum extending to the surface of the liver from the diaphragm and anterior abdominal wall; the round ligament lies in its free inferior border, derivative of embryonic ventral mesogastrium. Synonym: ligamentum falciforme hepatis. (05 Mar 2000) |
| fissure of round ligament of liver | A cleft on the inferior surface of the liver, running from the inferior border to the left extremity of the porta hepatis; it lodges the round ligament of the liver. Synonym: fissura ligamenti teretis, fissure for ligamentum teres, fossa venae umbilicalis, umbilical fissure, umbilical fossa. (05 Mar 2000) |
