[EC 2.1.1.45] an enzyme of the transferase class that catalyzes the transfer of a methyl group from 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate to deoxyuridine monophosphate, forming deoxythymidine monophosphate and dihydrofolate in the synthesis of deoxythymidine triphosphate. Improperly called thymidylate synthetase in older literature.
