deep orbital and unilateral frontal headache with progressive sixth, third, and fourth cranial nerve palsies, with oculomotor paralysis, diminution of the field of vision, and other ocular changes; it occurs either as a result of a meningioma of the sphenoid bone that compresses nearby nerves or as an extension of infection from sphenoid sinusitis into the superior orbital fissure.
