| 설명 | 머리와 얼굴의 혈액을 모아 심장으로 보내는 목에 있는 정맥. 목정맥에는 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥이 있다. 머리뼈 한 가운데 있는 윗시상굴-아래시상굴 및 구불정맥굴 및 구불정맥굴을 거쳐서 속목정맥에 이르며, 얼굴의 정맥혈도 얼굴정맥에 모였다가 목 부위에서는 속목정맥에 합류된다. 한편, 얕은머리정맥은 바깥목정맥에 이르게 되고, 속목정맥과 바깥목정맥은 합류하여 상대정맥이 되어 심장으로 되돌아간다. 목에는 이 밖에도 척추뼈정맥과 깊은목정맥이 있으며, 이들도 역시 완두정맥과 합류하여 상대정맥을 거쳐 심장으로 되돌아간다. |

| 설명 | 여러 기관 혹은 부분에서 심장으로 되돌아가는 혈액이 흐르는 혈관. 폐정맥을 제외한 모든 정맥은 산소가 적은 혈액을 운반한다. 정맥은 동맥에서와 같이 내막, 중막 및 외막을 갖고 있으나, 막은 두껍지 않으며, 혈관이 절단되면 허혈상태로 된다. 많은 정맥에는 내막의 중복에 의해 형성된 판이 있으며, 이것은 말초쪽으로의 혈액의 역류를 방지한다. |

| superior mesenteric vein |
