strophanthidin <chemical> 3 beta,5,14-trihydroxy-19-oxo-5 beta-card-20(22)-enolide. The aglycone cardioactive agent isolated from strophanthus kombe, s. Gratus and other species; it is a very toxic material formerly used as digitalis.
