| 설명 | 심장에는 4개의 공간이 있으며, 각기 우심방, 우심실, 좌심방, 좌심실(이상은 혈액이 흐르는 순서에 따라 배열했음)로 불린다. 이중 실제적으로 심장의 수축운동을 맡아 보는 것은 심실로써, 우심실은 정맥으로 들어온 혈액을 폐동맥으로 내보내는 역할을 하며, 좌심실은 폐에서 산소를 많이 공급받은 혈액을 동맥을 통해 모든 신체로 내보내는 역할을 한다. |

| 설명 | 이 자세는 여러 가지 경우에 사용되어 지는데, 예를 들어 한쪽 폐에 물이 찬 경우에 그냥 보통 서서 찍는 X-선 사진 기술로는 잘 나오지 않는 경우가 많다. 이럴 때, 옆으로 누운 자세로 한쪽으로 물이 고이도록 한 상태에서 촬영을 할 경우엔 이 병적인 상태를 명확히 볼 수 있다. 때로는 만삭이 된 임산부가 바로 누워 있을 경우 태아에 의해 혈관이 눌려 실신하는 경우가 있는 데 이럴 경우에도 이 “옆으로 눕는 자세”를 하면 금방 회복될 수 있다. |

| roof nucleus | The most medial of the cerebellar nuclei, lying medial to the interpositus nucleus, near the midline, in the white matter underneath the vermis of the cerebellar cortex.
