| postinflammatory anetoderma |
a condition usually occurring during infancy, characterized by the development of erythematous papules that enlarge to form oval plaques with a cordlike border and a scaly collarette at the inner margin. All areas of the body except the palms and soles may be affected, with the face, ears, and neck always being involved; it is followed by laxity of the skin clinically resembling cutis laxa. Called also postinflammatory elastolysis.
