polysplenia A condition in which splenic tissue is divided into nearly equal masses or totally absent; congenital heart disease and lung symmetry are common. The condition may be related to situs inversus. Most cases are sporadic.

polysplenia syndrome A syndrome in which normally unpaired organs develop more symmetrically in mirror image; two spleens, one on each side, are usually present, and cardiovascular anomalies are common.
