  • Motor Activity - »õâ The physical activity of a human or an animal as a behavioral phenomenon.
Synonyms : Activities, Locomotor, Activities, Motor, Activities, Physical, Activity, Locomotor, Activity, Motor, Activity, Physical, Locomotor Activities, Motor Activities, Physical Activities
  • Motor Cortex - »õâ Area of the frontal lobe concerned with primary motor control. It lies anterior to the central sulcus.
    Synonyms : Cortex, Motor
  • Motor Endplate - »õâ The specialized postsynaptic region of a muscle cell. The motor endplate is immediately across the synaptic cleft from the presynaptic axon terminal. Among its anatomical specializations are junctional folds which harbor a high density of cholinergic receptors.
Synonyms : Motor End-Plate, End-Plate, Motor, End-Plates, Motor, Endplate, Motor, Endplates, Motor, Motor End Plate, Motor End-Plates, Motor Endplates
  • Motor Neuron Disease - »õâ Diseases characterized by a selective degeneration of the motor neurons of the spinal cord, brainstem, or motor cortex. Clinical subtypes are distinguished by the major site of degeneration. In AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS there is involvement of upper, lower, and brainstem motor neurons. In progressive muscular atrophy and related syndromes (see MUSCULAR ATROPHY, SPINAL) the motor neurons in the spinal cord are primarily affected. With progressive bulbar palsy (BULBAR PALSY, PROGRESSIVE), the initial degeneration occurs in the brainstem. In primary lateral sclerosis, the cortical neurons are affected in isolation. (Adams et al., Principles of Neurology, 6th ed, p1089)
Synonyms : Lower Motor Neuron Disease, Motor Neuron Disease, Familial, Motor Neuron Disease, Secondary, Motor System Disease, Primary Lateral Sclerosis, Secondary Motor Neuron Disease, Upper Motor Neuron Disease, Lateral Scleroses, Lateral Scleroses, Primary
  • Motor Neurons - »õâ Neurons which activate muscle cells.
Synonyms : Motor Neuron, Neuron, Motor
