| 설명 | 실속없이 겉으로만 상쾌한 기분을 느끼는 상태를 말한다. 자발성 감퇴를 수반하는 경우가 많다. 환자는 자기의 형편이나 처지와 걸맞지 않게 기분이 좋아져서 행복감을 느낀다. 이 증상은 인격수준의 저하에 따라 일어난다고 생각되며, 전신성 진행마비, 노인성 치매, 뇌외상, 뇌종양 등의 뇌기질성 질환이나 모르핀, 시너, 알코올 등의 중독에 의한다. 특히 뇌의 앞 부분에 있는 이마엽이 손상되거나 장애를 받았을 때는 감정적인 면에서의 억제력과 자발성이 저하되며, 천박한 감정을 나타내는 등 성격의 변화가 일어난다. 그 중에서도 도덕관념에 저하하여 성적으로 방종해지거나, 도둑질, 거짓말 등 반사회적인 행위를 저지르기도 한다. 이 증상에 의하여 행복감에 젖는 것을 실없는 농담증(moria)이라고 한다. |

| 설명 | 아편계통의 마약. 이른바 양귀비에서 추출하여 만든다. 이렇게 바로 아편에서 추출하는 약을 opiate라고 하지만, 그렇지 않고 아편을 화학적으로 변화시켜 작용시간이나, 작용정도를 바꾼 약은 opioids라고 한다. 대개 마약류계통의 약은 의존증상(dependency)과, 중독증상(intoxication), 그리고 그 약을 끊을 때 생기는 금단증상(withdrawal symptom) 등을 유발하는데, 실제로는 모든 약이 이런 증상을 나타내지는 않는다. 또한 약의 종류도 다양하며, 그 작용도 각기 다르다. 그 종류를 보면 다음과 같다. 아편계통: 이른바 양귀비에서 추출되는 약들로 흔히 마약하면, 이 약을 지칭한다. 종류로 Heroin, Morphine, Meperidine(Demerol), Codeine 등이 있으며 중독증상(지나친 약의 복용으로 생기는 증상)으로는 동공수축, 다행감(euphoria), 또한 호흡운동억제 등도 나타나 생명에 지장을 줄 수도 있다. 금단증상(약을 끊을 때 생기는 증상)으로는 복통, 눈물, 콧물, 동공확대, 근육통, 관절통 등 가장 격렬한 증상이 나타나 대개 견디기 어려운 상태가 된다. |

| morphine | <drug> An opioid alkaloid, isolated from opium, with a complex ring structure. It is a powerful analgesic with important medical uses, but is highly addictive. Functions by occupying the receptor sites for the natural neurotransmitter peptides, endorphins and enkephalins, but is stable to the peptidases that inactivate these compounds. Pharmacologic action: Narcotic analgesia, increases venous capacitance and reduces systemic vascular resistance. Uses: Analgesic for ischemic chest pain, hemodynamic changes lead to reduced pulmonary congestion, reduced myocardial oxygen demand. Dose: 1-3 mg slow IV increments until desired effect.
